The Nestlé food giant Vaud will open a center in Lausanne composed of three research institutes: health sciences, materials sciences, as well as food safety and analytical sciences. It will employ 800 people.
In the Nesté union of its two units, the Nestlé Research Center and the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences are included. It will be composed of three main research institutes, which will be: health sciences, materials sciences and food safety and analytical sciences.
“Strengthening our discovery-based research capabilities will give us an edge in terms of technology development for the next generation of essential products,” said Mark Schneider, chief executive, cited in the release released on Thursday.
Nestlé wants to develop “healthier” products by reducing sugar, salt and saturated fat content and increasing positive nutrients. The new Milkybar Wowsomes chocolate bar is an example because it contains 30% less sugar in chocolate, while “using only natural ingredients and no sweetener”.
