Today Freddy OPSOMER looks from an international angle, to China’s OBOR : the maritime and the new land corridors that are connecting the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans by road and rail. These new silk roads allow containers from China to reach the North Sea ports in about 15 days (compared to 35 days by maritime transport). The cooperation between free trade zones of Kaunas (EU) – Minsk (CIS) and Jiashan (PRC ); creates a unique value added business platform, enabling global trade and value added logistics by common quality and sustainability standards. More Free Zones should participate in a new global silk road network based on industry 4.0 and blockchain : making the e-Silkroad a reality
